There are many variables that are important for quality sleep, such as temperature neutrality, mattress firmness, noise, and so much more… but the right bed size is one of the most important aspects you should always pay attention to.

Queen size bed is the perfect option for couples. Such a mattress doesn’t take up a lot of room but also allows couples to have their own space. So, it’s not surprising that the majority of us decide to just go for it.

There’s a variety of queen-size mattresses’ designs you can choose from depending on your preferences. For example, memory foam, innerspring, hybrid and so on. And, you can often choose from a traditional or split queen.

Today, I will go through the best queen mattress list, their pros, and cons. In the end, I will conclude everything and you will be able to decide which is the best queen mattress for yourself.

Here’s the best queen mattress list you will find in this review:

Best Queen Mattress - Beds to Consider

1. Saatva - Best Queen Mattress

Ranks #1 out of 7 Mattresses

Saatva offers two mattress options, both of them are innerspring mattresses. The first one is the original Saatva and the second option is Saatva HD, which is designed especially for heavy people. You can choose the original Saatva from three firmness options: soft (4), medium firm (6) and firm (7.5). Since Saatva HD is the best queen mattress for heavy people, it offers only a firm (7) mattress.

After going through Saatva reviews, I can say that both mattresses show pretty good results. Both of them provide amazing temperature neutrality that's necessary for quality sleep. Based on the study, high temperatures are associated with poor sleep[1].

So, with Saatva, you will wake up fresh and relaxed.

Furthermore, Saatva is amazing for couples. It’s very responsive to pressure, which means that the bed is bouncy enough for you to have quality time with your lucky one. The Saatva HD is not as bouncy, however, it should work perfectly for the majority of couples.

Another great quality that each best queen size mattress has is the edge support. It’s important as you wouldn’t want to feel like rolling out of the bed every time you’re sleeping on the edge.

The only problem that is quite frequent for innerspring mattresses is not the best motion isolation, so you can expect some motion transfer from Saatva. But that’s just because the bed is bouncy.

What is the queen-sized Saatva mattress price?

A queen-sized Saatva mattress is going to cost you $1099 USD. In contrast, the price for a queen-sized Saatva HD mattress is going to be $2499 USD.

As you can see, the original Saatva is quite a bit cheaper, even though it offers some amazing features, nonetheless.

2. Nectar - Low Price

Ranks #2 out of 7 Mattresses

Nectar is a memory foam mattress offered by the Nectar Sleep, which is a medium firm (6). Its major advantage is low-price and high-quality materials. So compared to its opponents, Nectar is an amazing option for those who want to get a high-quality mattress without emptying the pockets.

So, Nectar is not only one of the best mattresses in the market but it’s also the best cheap queen mattress. But why? To begin with, since Nectar is designed with gel memory foam and has a lyocell cover, it sleeps much cooler than other memory foam mattresses.

Furthermore, it offers an amazing pain and stress relief as it contours your body perfectly. Also, couples were really pleased with the motion and sound isolation as they didn’t feel or hear each other moving.

There’s only one disadvantage, which is strongly related to the fact that it’s a memory foam mattress. Nectar is not very responsive to pressure, so it may not be bouncy enough for some couples.

What is the queen-sized Nectar mattress price?

The price for a queen-sized Nectar bed is going to be $699 USD.

I told you that Nectar is the best cheap queen mattress, I guess now you can see why.

3. Puffy - Maintains Temperature Neutrality

Ranks #3 out of 7 Mattresses

Puffy offers two memory foam mattresses: the Puffy and the Puffy Lux. Both of the mattresses offer only one firmness option, the Puffy is designed from three layers and the Puffy Lux from four.

Even though the Puffy Lux mattress is much more expensive, based on the customers' reviews, no significant difference was noticed. Reviews also showed that the major Puffy benefits were motion transfer and conforming.

Both mattresses minimize the motion transfer to a significant extent, so if you’re a sensitive sleeper, it can be the best queen mattress. The research revealed[2] that people who were experiencing interruptions during the night had more stage 1 that stage 3 and 4 sleep.

Another great thing about the Puffy is the quietness. It adds an extra bonus to couples, as none of the partners will wake up due to the mattress sounds.

Moving further even if Puffy offers memory foam mattresses, they’re quite good at maintaining temperature neutrality throughout the night. You'll be also able to enjoy the perfect conforming due to the mattress adaptation to the body, to provide you with perfect pain and pressure relief. So if you have any neck or back pain, the Puffy can help you fight it.

Even though Puffy is one of the best queen size mattresses, it does have some flaws, which are quite common to the memory foam mattresses. The main of them is the lack of bounciness and not the firmest edge support. But don’t get me wrong, these flaws don’t mean that Puffy is not one of the best queen mattresses as the pros outweigh the cons.

What is the queen-sized Puffy mattress price?

The classic model of the Puffy mattress will come out to be $850 USD. In contrast to that, the queen-sized Lux model of the bed will total out at $1495 USD.

4. Purple - Great Edge Support and Bounciness

Ranks #4 out of 7 Mattresses

Purple offers two mattresses, the original Purple is a  memory foam mattress, which is a medium-firm (6.5). The new Purple is like the extension of the old one and performs so much better. It is available in three different levels of firmness: medium-soft (4.5), medium (5.5) and medium-firm (6.5).

The Purple’s strongest qualities are motion, sound isolation and conforming. It means that this mattress is highly beneficial to couples who sleep sensitive and wake up during the night quite often. Also, since it adapts to your body, you will feel amazing pain and pressure relief. It’s confirmed by the Purple reviews.

Now let’s move to the New Purple. Without doubts, I can say that it’s one of the best queen size mattresses I’ve ever seen. But why? To begin with, it manages to maintain the coolness throughout the night, after all, none of us like to wake up due to excessive sweating.

Furthermore, it has every feature that is needed for couples. Those features are motion and sound isolation, strong edge support, and, of course, bounciness.

So now you know the major information about both Puffy mattresses. Now let’s move to the additional information.

What is the queen-sized Purple mattress price?

Let’s move to the original Purple mattress pricing. A queen-sized Purple bed will cost you $999 USD. Given the quality of the mattress, this is more than an acceptable price!

5. PlushBeds - Natural

Ranks #5 out of 7 Mattresses

PlushBeds offers a variety of latex mattresses, which are focused on organic materials. It offers you a Botanical Bliss, Natural Bliss collection and Luxury Bliss mattress. What’s different about the PlushBeds mattresses? All of the components their beds are designed from are certified by GOLS, GOTS, USDA, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and GreenGuard Gold. So, the PlushBeds offer the best queen mattress for those who are looking for the environmental-friendly options.

The Botanical Bliss mattress will last you at least seven years, it’s very silent and releases minimal odor due to the natural materials. What is more, you can expect good motion isolation and temperature neutrality. The majority of sleepers said that they were sleeping relatively cool. The last thing I would like to include is bounciness. Even though it’s not the most bouncy mattress, it should be great for almost everyone.

The Natural Bliss offers very similar features to the Botanical Bliss mattress. It should serve you for more than seven years and have minimal odor. It’s also relatively silent, offers good motion isolation and temperature neutrality. And, the mattress conforms to your body closely, so that you could feel the ultimate pain and pressure relief.

Moving further, let’s discuss the Luxury Bliss. This mattress offers the most amazing features, and if I had to choose from the three options, I would say that this is the best queen mattress. It will sever you for at least eight years, it’s silent and produces minimal odor. Also, you should expect perfect conforming, temperature neutrality, motion isolation and good responsiveness to pressure.

What is the queen-sized PlushBeds pricing?

Let’s move to the PlushBeds pricing. Even though these mattresses are not the cheapest options in the market, they're worth every penny.

The queen size of the Botanical Bliss mattress costs from $1599 to $2299, the Natural Bliss pricing varies between $1299 and $1999. And the queen size of the Luxury mattress costs $1499. So, it’s for you to decide if this mattress is worthy of paying the price, but I am sure that it could be named the best queen mattress.

6. Layla - Flippable Mattress

Ranks #6 out of 7 Mattresses

Layla is one of few flippable mattresses in the market, which provides you with medium-soft (4) and firm (7) sides. It means that this mattress can work for almost everyone, as all you have to do is flip the mattress and choose either firmer or softer side.

So why does Layla deserve to be called the best queen mattress? To begin with, it has exceptional qualities, such as ThermoGel in the cover to allow you to sleep cooler. It’s also designed to form the layer of copper-gel infused memory foam, convoluted foam, and support foam.

Let’s begin with the best Layla’s features. The mattress should serve you at least 7 years. It offers amazing motion and sound isolation and very minimal off-gassing, which should evaporate very quickly.

Moving further, unlike the majority of other memory foam mattresses, Layla is sleeping relatively cool, so it shouldn’t be the problem. It also offers amazing conforming, meaning that the bed adapts to your body perfectly and provides you with pain and pressure relief.

What is the Layla mattress price?

People tend to think that good products cost a fortune, however, that's not true. The price for the queen-sized Layla mattress is going to be $899 USD.

So, it's obvious that Layla offers an amazing price-quality ratio!

7. Helix Midnight - The Golden Middle

Ranks #7 out of 7 Mattresses

While Helix offers a wide assortment of mattresses overall, today we'll be talking specifically about the Helix Midnight model.

If you were to take a look at the company's official website, you'd see that Midnight is actually their most popular product in stock. That's with good reason, too - the mattress a very well-designed hybrid that doesn't only sleep cool, but also comes equipped with some top-tier motion isolation and body conforming features.

While Helix's Midnight probably isn't the most responsive bed you'll "ever come across", it certainly makes up for it in other areas. Take, for example, the sturdiness of the bed's edges - thanks to the metal coils within the mattress, you could safely lay on the edge and not have to fear falling off of the bed.

This is a pretty cool example of how Midnight manages to blend certain specific features that would otherwise seem difficult to manage together. That's the beauty of a hybrid bed - and it doesn't only apply to the best queen mattress, but for all other sizes, too!

What is the price of a queen-sized Helix Midnight mattress?

A queen-sized Helix Midnight will cost you $920 USD. The mattress definitely ranges on the cheaper side of the spectrum, especially when you take a look at the prices of some higher end queen mattresses.

Conclusions

Therefore, every mattress provided in the best queen mattress list has both pros and cons. If you’re looking for a bed that can offer the best price-quality ratio, then you should consider Casper or Layla.

If you want a variety of options to choose from, then think about the PlushBeds. And, if you’re looking for the best queen mattress for heavy people, then consider Saatva as your option.

However, remember that you should choose a mattress depending on your preferences, no one can know better what you need!

Other Less Favoured Mattresses in This Category

Here are other mattresses related to the category but not as favoured by MyBestMattress readers yet. In my personal opinion, today there are much more optimal mattresses in the list with the higher rating that I'd recommend for the same price range or less.

Casper - Sleeps Warm

Casper offers five different mattress designs, however, their most popular mattress is the Casper, so I will introduce you with it. To begin with, the Casper is designed from the layers of memory foam, polyfoam and the cover mostly from polyester and rayon.

The Casper offers only one firmness option, which is medium (5.5) and works for the majority of sleepers. It can be called the best queen mattress because of the amazing features. Sleepers claimed that Casper minimizes the motion and sound isolation to a significant extent it also sleeps relatively cool compared to the average memory foam bed.

If you have back or neck pains, then this best queen mattress got it covered too. The Casper adapts to your body perfectly, so you can feel the ultimate pain and pressure relief. What could be better?

Now, there are a few flaws you should know about. Similar to other memory foam mattresses, Casper can lack bounciness to some couples. Also, since it’s been on the market for only a few years, it’s impossible to tell you how durable it is. Customers so far are happy with the quality as they haven’t noticed any sagging.

How much does a Casper mattress cost?

The queen-sized Casper mattress costs $1,095 USD. So, it's definitely a price-friendly option.

Not sure about the edge support

Yes, kudos to this purple bed review for pointing out that purple bed has weak edge support. It is the truth. Other than that - a very good-looking, good-quality mattress, and I woudln't say it's too expensive. It's the price I would pay for a good product.

FAQ

What is the queen size mattress best for?

Queen size bed is just the perfect option for couples. It doesn’t take up a lot of space but allows couples to have some room for themselves. So, it’s not surprising that the majority of couples decide to choose this mattress size.

What queen size mattresses are the best?

There’s a variety of queen-size mattresses’ designs you can choose from depending on your wants and needs: memory foam, innerspring, hybrid, latex, and many other options. And you can usually choose from a traditional queen or split queen - whichever you prefer.

How to choose the best mattress for me?

When choosing the best mattress for yourself, there are a few important factors that you should consider. First of all, what type of mattress do you need? The most traditional mattresses are memory foam, innerspring and latex, but there are other options, too. Secondly, think about how much you can spend on a mattress, but remember it doesn’t mean that the mattress is better if it’s more expensive. Furthermore, pick a size and firmness depending on your preferences. Finally, think about your sleeping position, it will also influence your decision.

How much does a good mattress cost?

Mattress price usually varies depending on a few factors, such as mattress type, size, height, quality of the material and durability. Today the price of a mattress can vary from $150 to $7000. However, you can find a good mattress for under $1000. The average pricing of a foam mattress is about $900 dollars, innerspring $950. These are the least expensive mattresses. However, if you can afford more expensive ones, you can consider a hybrid mattress for about $1,650, latex - about $2,000.

What size mattress should I get?

Most mattress providers offer 6 standard sizes, including Twin, Twin XL, Full/Double, Queen, King, and California King. A Twin mattress is great for children or young adults who live alone. A Twin XL mattress is great for children or single adults but not comfortable for couples. A Full/Double bed is excellent for children and couples, however, it won’t work if both people like to have more space. Queen mattresses work great for adults who like to sleep near each other. A King bed is amazing for couples who like to have some space or sleep with a pet. Finally, a California King mattress is amazing for tall people and couples who like to have space or sleep with their pets.

How long does a mattress last? When should you replace your mattress?

Mattress durability depends on the materials that were used to make it. The average lifespan of a mattress varies from 7 to 10 years. However, good quality mattresses can last even longer. It is recommended to replace your mattress every 8 years, but if it still feels great, there’s no need. If you want to buy a mattress that lasts longer than average, you should consider latex or memory foam mattresses. These can serve up to 10 or 15 years while Innerspring mattresses usually last about 7-8 years.
