If you’re in this review, then you probably know how difficult it is to find the right mattress. There are many aspects you should consider when choosing the right option. One of them is your sleeping position.

In this review, you will find everything there is to know about the best mattress for stomach sleepers.  I will introduce you with the sleeping positions in general, then I will provide you with the best mattresses for stomach sleepers, their main features, pricing, and then I’ll move to the conclusions.

Here’s the list of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers:

Best Mattress for Stomach Sleepers - Introduction

Before moving further into the mattresses’ review, I would like to introduce you to everything there is to know about stomach sleeping, both pros, and cons.

Even though there are some benefits of sleeping on your stomach, including less snoring, relieving the symptoms of acid reflux, but it can cause much more issues to your health:

  • Neck stiffness - the majority of people who sleep on their stomach say that they have the stiffness in their neck in the morning.
  • Lower back, hip and shoulder pain - when you sleep on your stomach and the mattress is not firm enough, your belly can go lower than your entire body and cause pain in specific areas.
  • Not comfortable for pregnant women - even through physicians say that this position is safe for pregnant woman, it can be very uncomfortable.

So, what’s the best mattress for stomach sleepers?

If you’re sleeping on your stomach, always look for a mattress that offers support together with pressure relief, and make sure to avoid soft options.

If you’re an average weight sleeper, then you should consider medium or medium-firm mattress, and if you’re a heavier sleeper, then the firm bed. These options will make sure to keep your spine in the right position.

Therefore, now that you know the basics, we can move to the stomach sleepers mattress reviews.

1. Nectar - Best Mattress for Stomach Sleepers

Ranks #1 out of 7 Mattresses

Nectar is a high-density foam mattress, which is designed from high-quality materials but maintains much lower than the competitors’ pricing. That’s one of the reasons why it’s the best mattress for stomach sleepers.

Nectar includes cooling cover, quilted, and regular gel memory foam, adaptive Hi Core memory foam and breathable base layer. It provides you with one firmness option, which is medium-firm (6) and gives stomach sleepers that needed support.

Nectar should serve you at least seven years. It offers perfect motion isolation and minimizes the movement to a significant extent. Also, since it’s designed from memory foam layers, it gives you the ideal pressure and pain relief while keeping the temperature neutrality due to the gel memory foam layers.

So, now you know that Nectar is the best mattress for stomach sleeper, the only thing that’s left is the price.

What is the Nectar Mattress Pricing?

2. Saatva - High Quality

Ranks #2 out of 7 Mattresses

Saatva offers you two mattresses to choose from: the Saatva Classic and Saatva HD. Both of them can be considered the best mattress for stomach sleepers.

Both of the mattresses are innerspring. The significant difference is that the original Saatva is excellent for almost every sleeper, whereas the Saatva HD is created for heavier individuals (more than 300lbs).

The Classic Saatva will provide you with three firmness options: soft, medium, and firm. With Saatva HD you can choose only one option, which is firm (7). So, you can select the best mattress for stomach sleepers based on your body weight and other personal preferences.

Both mattresses offer proper measures; however, the Saatva HD seems to be more durable and provide you with better durability and motion isolation. Otherwise, both mattresses sleep relatively cool, gives strong edge support, good conforming, and bounciness that is so needed for sex.

Now that everything is almost clear about both stomach sleepers mattress take a look into the price.

3. The New Purple - A Great Hybrid Bed

Ranks #3 out of 7 Mattresses

The New Purple mattress is a hybrid - and a special one at that! If we were to believe the countless amounts of customer New Purple reviews, this bed is definitely at the top of the "best mattress for stomach sleepers" list.

The New Purple isolates motion like there's no tomorrow, is exceptionally cool and doesn't cause any noise. The company behind the bed has taken no shortcuts - they've designed a great mattress, most of which design is based on their flagship Purple bed.

With its hybrid design, the New Purple is an ideal bed for anyone who tends to sleep on their stomach. The mattress isn't going to "swallow" you, and will provide the exact firmness level that each person prefers (before buying the New Purple, you get to choose the preferred firmness).

What is the New Purple mattress price?

As of writing this article, the New Purple doesn't come in a Twin size. That said, while the prices are the "best" around, customer state that the bed is worth every penny.

4. Helix - 6 Designs

Ranks #4 out of 7 Mattresses

Helix offers six hybrid beds, with an option to get each of them in ‘LUXE’ designs with extra padding, gel memory foam, and other features. Mattresses come in a variety of firmness options from soft (3) to the firm (7).

Now, since you’re looking for the stomach sleeper mattress and I’ve told you that you should pick the firmer mattress, Helix provides you with a few options: Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn. These mattresses are firm (7).

As I was going through Helix reviews, I saw that both mattresses show pretty great results to anyone who is looking for the best mattress for stomach sleepers. Since they are hybrid mattresses, you will never have to sleep hot as mattrasses manage to maintain the neutral body temperature.

What is more, Helix Twilight and Helix Dawn provide you with excellent conforming, motion and sound isolation, edge support. And, since these mattresses are bouncy enough, it will allow couples to enjoy their one on one time.

What is the Helix Mattress Pricing?

Let's move to the Helix price. Take a look into the Helix mattress pricing options:

Note that ‘LUXE’ designs are almost twice as much.

5. Loom and Leaf - Eco-Friendly

Ranks #5 out of 7 Mattresses

Loom & Leaf offers two firmness options: relaxed firm (5.5) and firm (8). So, the first option is great for light-weight and medium-weight stomach sleepers, the second one for heavy sleepers.

Loom & Leaf is a memory foam mattress and one out of few mattresses that don’t come compressed in a box. It’s designed from the quilted, organic cotton covering, cooling spinal gel, eco-friendly premium foam, and eco-friendly support foams.

Such a design offers an amazing conforming, targets pressure points and reliefs stress. What is more, since it’s created from high-quality materials, it should serve you at least seven years.

Other great qualities that are common to memory foam beds include perfect motion and sound isolation. It will ensure that neither you nor your partner interrupts the night’s sleep.

But even if this mattress is excellent, it may not be the best option for stomach sleepers as it can sleep quite hot, offers poor edge support, which is common to all foam beds, and it may not be bouncy enough for all couples.

So, now that you know the Loom & Leaf mattress pros and cons, let’s move further.

What is the Loom & Leaf mattress price?

The list of the pricing options for L&L is here:

Loom & Leaf may not be the cheapest option, however, it's still quite inexpensive compared to similar products.

6. Leesa - Great Edge Support

Ranks #6 out of 7 Mattresses

Leesa offers two mattress alternatives, the traditional Leesa and the hybrid option. However, since you’re looking for the best mattress for stomach sleepers, the better option is the Leesa hybrid mattress.

Leesa hybrid is designed from premium foam, memory foam, and individually-wrapped pocket springs. This mattress should serve you at least seven years.

Now, Leesa hybrid is more on the firmer side - medium-firm (6.5). It will provide the stomach sleepers with the needed support. Of course, for very light sleepers, it might be too firm, and then the traditional Leesa would be the better choice.

So, why is Leesa the best mattress for stomach sleepers? Leesa can be considered the most reliable option because it provides you with perfect motion isolation, durability, and edge support. It’s not only bouncy and great for sex but also offers pain and stress relief.

Therefore, this is definitely one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers, but how much does it cost?

What is Leesa Hybrid Price?

Let’s move to the Leesa hybrid pricing. Here you can find full size and price options for Leesa hybrid:

I'd say quite good prices for a hybrid model.

7. WinkBeds - For All Size People

Ranks #7 out of 7 Mattresses

WinkBeds may not be the best bed for stomach sleepers, however, it provides the perfect option for heavy people - WinkBed Plus. This mattress is terrific for those who weight more than 230lbs as it’s specifically designed to offer more support.

I have to say that both the regular WinkBed and WinkBed Plus are great stomach sleeper mattresses. The WinkBed is an innerspring bed, which offers three firmness options: medium (4.5), medium firm (6.5) and firm (7.5). The WinkBed Plus provides you with only one choice, the medium firm (6.5).

Both mattresses should serve longer than the average innerspring or hybrid mattresses. They will provide you with firm edge support and minimal off-gassing. They’re also bouncy and great for your sexual activities.

Therefore, since you’re looking for the best bed for stomach sleepers, the WinkBeds are definitely an option. Now let’s move further to stomach sleeper mattress pricing.

Tuft & Needle - Quite Firm

Tuft & Needle offers two models: Mint and T&N mattress, both of them are foam beds and provide a medium firm level of support. Since you’re looking for the best mattress for stomach sleeper, it’s the perfect firmness for the majority.

According to the Tuft & Needle owners, these mattresses don’t have any significant flaws, except for the poor edge support, which is quite usual for memory foam beds. These mattresses should serve you at least seven years.

I liked the firmness

Nectar is quite a firm mattress, so if that's what you like - I really recommend the Nectar bed. This Nectar review might be too firm for some people though, so if you are really light-weighted, this might not be for you.

Not cheap, but worth it

I was on the fence about the whole price situation - you gotta admit that's not cheap. But I would say now I understand the purple mattress price, if you want the best, you gotta pay like it.

Helps with back pain, but could be cooler

Yes, Nectar bed doesn't cost a lot compared to other mattress brands but still I wish it cost less. It's so comfy that I bought one for my mother, she has back pain problems and she also loves this mattress. I read in several nectar mattress reviews that sometimes it's too hot and I have to agree with that a bit, because on very very hot summer nights, it might lack some cooling...

Helis Dusk

To start with, Helis mattress elivery was super quick and set up was easy. The mattress is made of quality materials and looks durable. The firmness level is just right, but it's way too hot. I think about getting a topper just to cool down while sleeping. Overall, it's great.

I bought a twin size Leesa mattress for my daughter. She likes it, but when I tried it - it is extremely soft and terrible on my back. Well I'd say consider buy Leesa mattress only for your children or if you are underweight.

FAQ

What is the best mattress for stomach sleepers?

Stomach sleepers should choose memory foam mattresses that are at least medium firm. Such a bed will keep your neck and spine as straight as possible.

What kind of problems can stomach sleepers experience due to the bad mattress?

Sleeping on your stomach is the worst sleeping position, as you can experience neck stiffness, lower back, hip, and shoulder pain if you choose the wrong mattress. Also, it's not comfortable and not healthy for pregnant women to sleep on their bellies.

How to choose the best mattress for me?

When choosing the best mattress for yourself, there are a few important factors that you should consider. First of all, what type of mattress do you need? The most traditional mattresses are memory foam, innerspring and latex, but there are other options, too. Secondly, think about how much you can spend on a mattress, but remember it doesn’t mean that the mattress is better if it’s more expensive. Furthermore, pick a size and firmness depending on your preferences. Finally, think about your sleeping position, it will also influence your decision.

How much does a good mattress cost?

Mattress price usually varies depending on a few factors, such as mattress type, size, height, quality of the material and durability. Today the price of a mattress can vary from $150 to $7000. However, you can find a good mattress for under $1000. The average pricing of a foam mattress is about $900 dollars, innerspring $950. These are the least expensive mattresses. However, if you can afford more expensive ones, you can consider a hybrid mattress for about $1,650, latex - about $2,000.

What size mattress should I get?

Most mattress providers offer 6 standard sizes, including Twin, Twin XL, Full/Double, Queen, King, and California King. A Twin mattress is great for children or young adults who live alone. A Twin XL mattress is great for children or single adults but not comfortable for couples. A Full/Double bed is excellent for children and couples, however, it won’t work if both people like to have more space. Queen mattresses work great for adults who like to sleep near each other. A King bed is amazing for couples who like to have some space or sleep with a pet. Finally, a California King mattress is amazing for tall people and couples who like to have space or sleep with their pets.

How long does a mattress last? When should you replace your mattress?

Mattress durability depends on the materials that were used to make it. The average lifespan of a mattress varies from 7 to 10 years. However, good quality mattresses can last even longer. It is recommended to replace your mattress every 8 years, but if it still feels great, there’s no need. If you want to buy a mattress that lasts longer than average, you should consider latex or memory foam mattresses. These can serve up to 10 or 15 years while Innerspring mattresses usually last about 7-8 years.
